hey guys ive tried searching but cant come up with an answer.
my uncle gave me a water damaged iphone 5S but its from Verizon, i called apple care and the best they can do is send me a working verizon one for the 269 price.
im just wondering if theres anyway for me to be able to use it in canada?

The sim slot is officially unlocked out of the gate, so yes, a Verizon iPhone 5S will work on any GSM carrier's network anywhere in the world. However, you most likely won't get LTE using the phone on a Canadian carriers's network. You can try.
Me? I'd use the $269 towards the purchase of an officially unlocked GSM iPhone 5S from Apple, & sell the damaged 5S on eBay for parts.

i wanted to know if there is anyway to get the verizon iphone 5s to work in canada,you said yes but no LTE then said you would use the 269 for a new GSM iphone 5s but i dont want to do that because i am just interested in selling the new one i get.
i lose 269 but get it back when i sell the phone but since your telling me it wont have LTE i cant sell it anyways and need to sell it to the US market.
Well, then sell it on eBay when you get the replacement phone. Yes, it will work in Canada, but may not support LTE, depending on the carrier used. That's not your issue anyway.
