windows support software not detected even after downloading the drivers to a USB and being formatted for FAT32
So I have literally had the hardest time getting Windows 7 to install on my iMac that was purchased Jan 2014. I have been on the phone with apple support many times. finally got a specialist and was still not able to get everything finished.
So here's where I'm stuck. The download windows support drivers from boot camp assistant does not work.. ever.. I've tried countless times. So i do some searching and find that I need BootCamp5.1.5640. Perfect. Found the file downloaded it and got it copied over to the USB flashdrive. I open bootcamp and click the last option to install windows from a disc. I have a full version of windows 7 on a disc not an upgrade. It takes me where it wants to partition the drive. As soon as I hit install it says. Windows support software not detected. I've tried unmounting and remounting.. I've tried keeping the flash drive out until the message displays then putting it in. I cant seem to make it work. No matter how many times I've verified the USB, done a repair through disk utility nothing works. Can someone PLEASE figure out how to get past this step of bootcamp!!
Thanks,
Alex
