Same sh*t different server 🙂

10.9.3 and server app 3.1.2 updates did nothing to fix this...

my xpostgres.log is over a gig!

xpostgres.log gets flooded with stuff like this:

<bump>

There are two log files that are now over 8 GB each for me. Both are "postgres".log files for two services I do not have activated in Server. Has there been any resolution to this issue of large log files for inactive services (in my case, profile manager and wiki). Note, I know that these files are being written to as every time the file changes, CCC identifies it and backs it up. Please advise and thank you to the posters and responders so far for noticing this issue....

In the article suggested by Patrick, there's a sequence of terminal commands in the section, To reset Profile Manager and clear all data on Mavericks.

Since I don't use Profile Manager (it's turned off), I executed the first five commands and then removed the xpostgres.log file:

sudo serveradmin stop devicemgr

sudo serverctl disable service=com.apple.DeviceManagement.devicemgrd

sudo serverctl disable service=com.apple.DeviceManagement.postgres

sudo mv /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/ServiceData/Data/PostgreSQL ~/.Trash

sudo mv /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/ServiceData/Data/backup ~/.Trash

sudo mv /Library/Logs/ProfileManager/xpostgres.log ~/.Trash

I ran the above last night and so far this morning the xpostgres.log file has not reappeared. I use my Mac Mini as a personal cloud server and confirmed sync is working for contacts, notes, calendar, reminders.

But I haven't rebooted the server. I suspect both services will then restart and resume writing to another log. But for now this work around will do.
