I accidentally hit "Don't Trust" and now my iPhone won't sync to my computer. It won't ask me to trust it again even when I restart everything. Now what?

Ok, this just happened to me and none of the above seemed to work. But, I have found a solution that worked for me:

go to settings > general > reset > then click 'reset all settings' (only click if you happy to reset all settings)

Obviously, this will reset all your settings but not lose content.

My iphone 5S was attached to the computer and itunes throughout this process .... it will power down, restart and you will notice the sync icon start to whirr!

Obviously once redone you will have to reset security thumb/passcode - but your sync should now be working!!!

I'm not sure if this is still relevant, but you might want to plug it into a different usb port. It could be the 30-pin connector, or it could be the usb port you're plugging it into. It could also be the usb part of the cord that you plug into your computer.

I just did this with my iPad 2 and after flailing around for awhile, I followed Awentz94 suggestion and it worked perfectly. I have copied it below:

Okay for everyone who has Windows! Here is how you get the "Trust This Computer" pop up if you accidentally hit "Don't Trust"

Follow this simple steps:

Start>Devices

Under "Unspecific Devices" will show your apple driver

Right Click, go to properties>Hardware> Double click the driver> Delete Driver.

When you reconnect your iPhone, it will give you the prompt to trust or dont trust, and it will reinstall the driver on your computer!

The first step would be to read the thread in which you just posted.

Including this next post about how to fix it as long as you are running Parallels on your iMac.

I made the same mistake and pressed "Don't Trust". I am running Parallels on my iMac and this is how I got out of the hole.

I connected my iPad to one of the USB ports in the back of the iMac and brought the iPad up for use (code or fingerprint recognition).

I held down the "Alt" key and clicked on the two parallel vertical red lines in the Menu bar at the top of my screen. This gave a drop down menu and I clicked on "Devices".

I got a sub-menu and clicked on "External devices".

I got a sub-sub-menu and clicked on "iPad" and the option to "Trust"/"Not Trust" displayed on the iPad screen. This time I pressed the "Trust" button.

I have since switched off and disconnected and reconnected my iPad and the option was not presented again so I am hoping the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps at least somebody, so please "Like" if it did.

I had this problem where my iPad would not trust my computer and would not sync. The solution I found was to reinstall iTunes and then suddenly everything worked perfectly.

I had the same issue and the answer is as follows. Restart your computer with the iPhone plugged in, you will be asked to trust or not trust on your iPhone click trust and problem solved. I spent hours trying to fix this problem and the solution was so EASY.

I tried this and it worked.

So glad i am not the only person to accidently hit the wrong button.

I had to uninstall the driver as opposed to deleted/disabling it, but other than that, this worked perfectly!

This is exactly what you should do. Disconnect and Reconnect the device. Then "Trust" you are ready to go.. 🙂
