Received email shows wrong addressee in ios 7.1

I have an iPhone 4S running ios 7.1

When I open emails they show an email sent to me with the correct sender name and address but the first addressee is not correct. It shows the same addressee in all my emails. The addressee listed has no relevance to the email.

If I hit reply all, the strange addressee does not come up. It only appears in the original received email.

I have tried deleting the email account and reinstalled it but the problem persists.

What can I do to correct this?

this is not about the addressee, i.e., myself. It is about the names shown as to who the email has been sent to.

It first shows an addressee's name as recorded in my Contacts which is the name for their email address as listed in my Contacts. It happens to be a couple so the name is listed with both of their names. It is always the same name. After that name it shows the correct recipients. This incorrect recipient is always shown first.

I am very careful never to open attachments from unknown sources. I live in China and am their now. I run virus detection software regularly. I use a VPN. I have no viruses that have been detected by Sophos. I update my virus detection software very frequently and run it after downloading.

I don't use or participate in chain mail. My system is clean, as far as I can detect.

I'm going to try deleting that user name from my contacts and see what happens.
