One of my Favorites in Finder just went away when I double clicked on it. How can I recover it?

When I had doubled clicked on a favorite in Finder, the favorite simply disappeared. And Finder says that it does not exist on the machine any longer. Is there a way to recover this (didn't use Time Machine). And why would it just simply disappear?

Machine - Mac mini

OSX Maverick 10.9.2

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

If the real item is no longer on the computer, then you cannot recovery it. The reason it disappeared is because the alias pointed to a non-existant target.

If the actual folder does exist but was moved, then just drag it back into the Finder's sidebar.
