How do I remove Virtualbox from Macbook Pro?

Remove virtual box!

I am having slow issues with Mavericks since I updated. I have plenty of ram. I posted a thread and this person helped me and found virtualbox on my computer. I have never used windows on my computer. I was told by apple store to buy more ram for the slowness of my computer spinning disk when i type or open a program. I think removing virtual box will help but we are having a hard time removing it. After trying a few things he said "VirtualBox is still hanging around, and loading extensions, at this point you need 'hands on' help to remove it, this method isn't working.” Anyone know how to remove virtual box from a mac? Thought I would try one more time! and here is some more info. Thank you so much

Sorry if it takes me awhile to repond I have to wait for my sentences to come up and programs to open .. it's that slow I am about to throw it against the wall 😉

Go to System Preferences / Users & Groups. Click your name, then Login items. Find Tune up my Mac and use the - key to delete it.

Adding memory wouldn't hurt you by any means. You're loading a lot of junk with coupons, etc. Every program takes up some space in memory.

Because there is probably not anything wrong with your Mac, except that it could use a bit more Ram.

What is a problem is software, things that seem to have been on your Mac without you putting them there.

That is why I think it is time to erase your Mac and reinstall your applications. Then restore your data from a backup. That way you will know that the software is correct, you'll even know what is on the machine.

Kristen,

At the time you ran that last report, was the Mac running ok? You still have a fair amount of stuff loading, mostly Safari extensions and Internet plugins, but you've gotten rid of the stuff we talked about. You are on the low side of RAM on your machine, which is a fairly simple upgrade. That might be what we need to look at since the garbage stuff is pretty much gone.

Thank you very much! No, my mac is still taking forever to do anything. I get the spinny wheel all the time.. I can just get more memory then if that is all there is left to do. I just don't get what is making so slow 🙂 I went into my safari internet plug ins under preferences and there is only 3 I see. That is crazy. Maybe I will just erae those as well.

I bought that. It basically just deletes the caches checks for updates boosts memory when it is low. Here is my lastest etrecheck

I have not installed one thing since you have told me not too! Does someone have control of my computer or something?? Is there new things on here?? My phone connects to my computer and my ipad but I HAVE NOT installed a darn thing since you told me not to!! What is new that is installed now this is freaking me out??

Stop installing 3rd party crap!!

Turn your Mac off and go to the Apple Store before you make the situation any worse. You are currently the component that is not working correctly.

Ok, you seem to be distubed by stuff that is already on my computer. Meaning it has been there for probably 2+ years, some maybe newer, but not after I learned about this. I am asking how to remove this stuff that has been on my computer. I can not go back in time and change what I installed. I understand that there are 3rd party programs on my computer. I understand that. I am not installing anything new. This is how people learn. Like Thomas Edison said, "I have never made a mistake, I have only learned from my experience." I am not a component, and I am working just fine. This is why they have forums. To learn about things, share information, not belittle people! Plus, I did bring into apple on Saturday. They said that these programs should not be causing the slowness I am experiencing. They said many people have the same issue with more apps than I have am more memory used. Buy more memory. But I always do my research and disagree with apple. I did buy more memory and I will have my brother install it, but I was simply trying to remove these before my memory is installed. Maybe I should try a different tech at the apple store, but no need to get worked up and negate.
