Hi Pamela,

The short answer is that many publishers and developers work with advertisers to monetize their sites (and keep the content free). To this extent different advertising partners will help faciliate getting the ads to you. This is done through several mechanisms, but sometimes calls are made to/from the advertising partners to get the ad banner (often as JS Tags). In this case, a call was causing issues for you. As a result we asked the partner to stop firing (aka "pull") the tags that created issues.

We are continuing to explore the issue, and it is something that happens occasionally for a multitude of reasons. Rest assured Zynga did not contribute to this as far as we know, and we hope this issue doesn't pop up again.

Help! Unseized at Blue Kai - are you still on the case? My partner has a Macbook pro and is suffering from the same problem shown above - Safari keeps opening up unbidden and the site tags.bluekai.com keeps re-opening, but never connects to anything. We have re-started the computer, and tried clearing the History in Safari, but this keeps recurring every 10 or 20 seconds, despite Safari being closed. Any ideas or help for us??? Many thanks Paul.

Hi. The Norton Antivirus software looks very good, but it did not detect or remove the tags.bluekai.com problem on Safari. We tried everthing we could, then my wife called the Apple shop help line, and a nice guy there took her through a procedure to remove the problem, and the computer is now fine. He also advised that we do not really need the Norton Antivirus either, so we will remove that.

So just bite the bullet and call your Apple shop support line!!

Best wishes

Paul

This discussion is specific to iPads, and involves ads being generated by games with in-app advertising. It sounds like you're talking about an issue on a Mac, which would be entirely separate and have entirely different causes. (There are very few apps for the Mac that are ad supported in the same way as iOS apps.)

Note that there is no version of Norton capable of scanning any iOS device. Further, Norton is poison on your Mac and should be avoided at all costs.

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for this issue popping up. I have forwarded your comments to our support team to begin exploring. I would like to reiterate that the BK tags are part of the advertising process, and there are no threats to you associated with them.

Thank you for sending the URLs. If you could also let me know what sites/apps this is affecting, we can reach out to those publishers for cooperation.

Thanks Thomas. I am sure that you know more than I do. However, in searching for a way to restore my partners devastated computer, this was the only discussion I could find on the subject, and as Unseized works for bluekai, I thought he could help. Yes, it is for a Macbook pro. Our issue is now resolved as described. I will remove the norton anti virus, as the technician we spoke to said it is superfluous - I did however, get it direct from the Apple Apps store, and it states that it is specifivcally created for Apple Macs. I still defer to your suggestion tho' as you clearly are more experienced in these matters than I.

I hope that the others with problems can also get them fixed. How nice it is that forems such as these exist.

Cheers

Paul.
