I wouldn't be too confident of someone working with an advertising network being too helpful at getting rid of ads.

If you're seeing pop-ups on your Mac, you probably have some adware installed. See my Adware Removal Guide. If you have further issues with this, I'd advise starting a new topic in one of the Mac-related forums here:

Hi Unseized,

Yesterday I started getting popups through Safari every 10 seconds on my Macbook. I have tried everything and it won't stop. Even when Safari is closed, I have deleted all the cookies and cleared the history - a window will pop up with an address starting with tags.bluekai.com/ The pop ups only happen when the internet is on.

I noticed in another one of your posts saying that you work for Bluekai. Can you help me?

I can't use my laptop until this stops and even now I don't trust that what it is that has hacked my Macbook won't be gaining private information - like banking information.

What do I need to do to get Bluekai off my laptop. I did not download or sign up for anything yesterday that would have given the company permission to do anything to my computer. How can be sure I'm safe to use my laptop?

Thanks for your help,

Kendra

Hi Everyone,

Are these issues still occurring? I know our engineering team spent the last few days looking into it. If you are still having issues, please continue to post here. Any detailed information you can offer including the OS, desktop vs. mobile/tablet, the sites/apps that the problem occurs on along with the URL that is displayed is extremely helpful, as it allows us to pinpoint where the problem is much faster.

Thanks, Unsiezed, for your efforts to help with this issue. After you initially said you'd look into it, the Bluekai redirects stopped for me. But I've recently started getting redirected to this URL:

http://view.atdmt.com/iaction/adoapn_AppNexusDemoActionTag_1

Just as a reminder, in my case, I'm using an iPhone and this is happening only during play on a game called "Scramble with Friends".

The redirects to this new URL have been less frequent than the Bluekai ones were, but it is happening from time to time. I'm puzzled about the advertising angle, because I'm using a paid version of the game (supposedly no ads.)
