safari search does not work using enter key

Hitting enter key does nothing when trying to do a search from the address field.

Safari 7.0.2,

iMac (24-inch Early 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Same thing happening to me.

first I couldn't place the cursor in the field, then everything got mixed up and now the return key isn't recognised.

Me too. Yesterday was fine, today is broken. I had already deleted .plist file but no luck.

I will check my wife's Mac when she will get home
