My wife's iPad has a lock sign against her Home WIFI and she can only use WIFI through nearby spots. How do I unlock it for her, please? I've tried the turning off and Home button together but t hat doesn't work. TIA.

Then check your send and receive list and block anyone you don't know.

Unable to join network still sounds like the wrong passcode is being entered.
If your is connected, put it in airplane mode while your wife tries again.
Perhaps it can't deal with interference
The next step is taking the iPad to a public wifi connection that works well.
After that, back to the store, or Apple support.
Definitely the right password which is copied from printed slips provided by BT as well as being in the usual place on the bottom of the router.
I had intended tomorrow to use it at a public place to help with any ideas. Have several times had mine completely turned off air whilst using the other iPad with no luck. I'll be in touch with BT before visiting any Apple store.
If/when I find the answer I'll wilingly publish it.

Right. The answer.
The info supplied by BT gives the password for the router and the 'Wireless Key'. It is the Wireless Key which has to be inserted rather than the password. Simple!
