Lenovo USB 3.0 Dock On a Mac

Doesnt appear to be any formal MAc drivers for this dock yet all the services work EXCEPT for the Displayport on the USB dock.

Was hoping i could use it as i changed from PC to Macbook air an aside from this one bit not working it was almost there 🙂

Long shot but does anyone even think this couldwork on the Macbook?

TIA

I realise this is a very old thread, but I'm considering getting a new MBP 13 and have a trusty Lenovo USB3 dock which I'd prefer not to have to replace (it's not necessarily a deal breaker but could be another $150-$250 I'd prefer not to spend in switching back to Mac).

I currently use the dock for Gb Ethernet, 2 DVI screens, multiple USB peripherals (mostly USB 2).

Lenovo only supports/supplies Windows drivers for this dock, but http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos has "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Mac OS X" 3.0.0 including Sierra 10.12.3 support (readme http://assets.displaylink.com/live/downloads/release-notes/f741_DisplayLink+USB+ Graphics+Software+for+Mac+OS+X+3.0-Relea…).

Can anyone share their experiences with the Lenovo USB3 dock on a recent Mac? (bonus points for USB-C 😀)

TIA!

Simon

I'm using that dock on MBP for additional screen + printer. Aukey made a great USB-C power pass-thru adapter that includes USB 3.0 ports and HDMI port as well. i got it on amazon for something like $45.

Only hitch i have found is that the audio is sometimes choppy. thought it was the mac at first, but audio problems went away once i plugged directly into the mac tho.

you have any issues with audio? did you go that route?

While Lenovo doesn't supply a driver for the display adapters, the chipset inside it (and as far as I can tell, all other USB 3.0 to DisplayPort devices) is provided by DisplayLink. You can install the generic DisplayLink adapter drivers directly from their website at: http://www.displaylink.com/support/index.php

I installed the v2.2 drivers on my 10.9 MBP and the display immediately popped up on the attached monitor after the required reboot.

There are also installers for 10.4 - 10.5 and 10.6 - 10.9 in the same driver download.
