Spatial conform doesn't work
I tried to resize a clip using Spatial conform, but nothing happens. It just stays the same size. Is that bug or does someone know how to fix it?
Thanks

What are the project properties? What are the clip settings? What spatial conform options did you try?
Your can delete clip from timeline and paste it again. Only this way works for me.
It's not a bug that I've heard about. You might just try closing and relaunching the app.

It is a big bug. Because somitimes it work, sometimes not.
Sometimes there are "fit" in spatial conform, but media is oversized.
Could you please give specifics of project properties and image sizes. In most instances Fit will make an oversized image if it's not in exactly the same aspect ratio.
But it must work with diferent aspect ratio too? Fill — to fill frame, fit — to fit).
Of course it works if your clip aspect ratio is different from your project, but if it is Fill will ALWAYS to larger than the frame and extend beyond it, and Fit will ALWAYS show transparency around it on at least two sides.

This has just affected a project of mine and it IS a crazy bug. It even causes the dimensions of some footage to be misread, not just spatial conform to stop working.
I would really like to find a workaround asap. You can see here this clip is clearly refusing to fill the frame depsite 'fill' spatial conform. The footage is also incorrectly stated as 820p when it is really 1080p!!!
I discovered this problem when trying to go to a widescreen to 2.35 aspect ratio in late stages of an edit.
I did these steps:
1. Duplicate project
2. Change properties of new project to 1920x820 (Widescreen)
3. Open new project.
4. Various random clips (I cannot see the pattern as to why some are not affected) then incorrectly state footage is 1920x820. On these affected clips, spatial conform DOES NOTHING anymore.
HELP!!!!
My guess is the bug is in 'change project properties' - it somehow mangles clip data in the process.
What version is this? Can you give the complete specs of that clip or if possible posit it online somewhere?
FCP X 10.1.3. I just repeated the mangling process again.
Here is another affected clip. Approximately 20% of the clips in the project are affected after changing aspect ratio. Again 'fill' not working on any of affected clips.
Larger screen grab showing extended properties of clip. The footage is definitely 1080p shot on Sony PMW-EX1R.
In case it helps. Here is the video properties. Again with 'Fill' not working.
No screen shot is showing. Can you upload a clip that doesn't work?
You can't see the screenshots? Weird. I can above. Refresh?
I am not sure you will be able to repeat it with just the clip. I think it is more likely related to the project and altering it's properties.
I could send export XML of the 1080p version, then you import it and changed properties to 820p. I bet that would reproduce the issue for you (but without media of course).
How do I attach an XML file?
Here is the XML export of project at 1080p.

Then follow same steps to mangle it.
1. Duplicate.
2. Change duplicate properties to Custom->1920x820.
3. The clip at 04:04:23 should be affected by the change. That is the one in above screenshots.
I really hope you can repeat this and find a workaround. It is a total show stopper for this particular project.
I just tried to repeat this on my laptop using the method I suggest above.
The clip at 4:04:23 did not get mangled on that machine after changing to 820p.
This makes me think a workaround for this bug maybe to export XML, then re-import it. It may straighten out whatever has got corrupted? Will try that now.
