Signing into MLB TV

I can't sign in to MLB TV on my Apple TV. My sign in works on my ipad, etc, so it not a user I'd or password issue. Anyone else having this problem or have a solution? Thanks!

I am having the same problem. I get mlb.TV with my directv extra innings package. I am able to log in on my I pad, my Mac, my I phone and even my ps3 and watch the games. When I try to login using the same exact credentials on my Apple TV I get a unable to verify user identity message or identity error message or something like that. I have cleared credentials under app, I have reset my Apple TV and still does not work. I can via air play from I pad or Mac get game to my tv but I should be able to login on Apple TV and use this service. Anyone that can help with this issue or is having this issue and can assist me in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. When I log on to my iPad /iPhone MLB TV works great. No such luck when logging onto Apple TV , MLB.tv account.

I've reset my Apple TV. Still doesn't work. We get MLB tv free this year through my DirecTV MLB extra innings package that I subscribe too. I had to link my subscription to iPad and iPhone. Very easy and works great. When I log into Apple TV with same password. Doesn't work????

Any help would be awesome. I've called Apple and MLB.tv. They keep saying to call each other. Crazy.

Diesel, I work in IT, I get calls all the time asking "why isn't my computer working" and such so I know what you mean, but in this case, there was not much more to say.

JBizzle212, see my instructions above: There should be an option to "clear credentials" on your Apple TV. Do that and then sign in again.

That worked for me at lease. I am using a third gen Apple TV with the latest software as far as I know.

thanks nyvikesguy but that did not work either. i even did a restore on my apple tv and tried to log in to no avail. it still works great on my mac, i phone, i pad and ps3 but apple tv is very frustrating. i hate calling mlb support because the reps are hard to understand but guess i am going to have to. Any other suggestions, tips or tricks you hear of please let me know.

I'm having the same exact problem DK1013. I think it is only an issue for those of us who received MLB TV for free with the Extra Innings package this year. The fix that NYVikesGuy is talking about is for when you get the "fingerprint" error but our error is something different. I think for whatever reason, AppleTV is not recognizing our subscription. I expect MLB/Apple TV to work this out but who knows.

I am having the exact same problem. I agree that it's probably an issue between directtv and appleTV.

My Mac, Ipad, Iphone, ----yadda yadda all work perfectly, but not my apple.tv.

I contacted MLB and stayed on the phone for exacty 59 minutes and 39 seconds. Near the end of the call I was actually transferred to someone that spoke very clear English, with no blaring background voices. Within only a few minutes, she explained that we are all suffering from the same technical problem. She said that they are working on the problem and it's not only me (or you).

Just for your info.........with no luck,

I also did a complete reset on my appleTv box.

I did a reset on every password and username associated with the box and mlb.tv (because it seems like there are mulltiple ways to sign into the app).

I also did clear credentials.

I also changed my MLB.TV password.

None of those worked. (Also, the only way I could even have the strength to type every apple password and user name, 1,442,352 times was by setting up my Mac bluetooth keyboard.

I'll keep myself posted on your reply's. I'll let you know the second I find a solution.

thanks for the update mmmccall1653 and bill. glad you understand my frustration with the app and the lack of english demonstrated by mlb.com customer service, not to mention the background noise leading me to 45 minutes of nowhere. i also did a factory reset of my apple, cleared credentials, changed password in mlb twice. i even created another account using a different e-mail and still NOTHING. For whats its worth i can use air play with my mac book pro and get the game on my big screen where my apple tv is hooked up and with my ps3 in the basement able to watch games on big screen but its still very frustrating because it is most likely something very simple they could fix. mlb blames directv and directv blames mlb so where do we go? my hope is that enough directv subscribers with extra innings and mlb.tv package complain that they wake up and realize there is a problem. if you two get any resolution to this matter please keep me posted or updated as will i if i do. lets hope it is resolved before game 162.

just a update for all that is having the mlb extra innings with mlb.tv through directv issue on your apple tv. i received a call today from their support (in texas-imagine that) and he spoke great english. he asked me several questions about have i reset, did i restore, did i clear credentials, have i changed password, all of which i have done and several other things. he exlained to me that their engineering department is aware of this issue and it seems to be us with the directv extra inning mlb.tv package and apple tv, accoring to him several thousand others which means it must be a clear issue and needs to be addressed with priority. i told him to inform me via phone or e-mail or in the mlb forum immediately when this issue has been resolved and we can log in to our apple tv. in which he said he would. i do ask that if anybody gets a resolution prior to that please post to this forum so the rest of us can enjoy the same luck you have.
