iTunes Error 11 received when doing a normal restore on iPod Touch 4G iTunes.

Hi. I'm trying to do a normal restore on my iPod Touch 4G on iTunes. I'm running on the up-to-date firmware of 6.1.6 What I am basically doing is putting my iPod in Recovery Mode, plugging it into my PC, click "Restore and Update", allow iTunes to download the firmware, and let it go. What happens is, right when it is done "preparing for restore", I receive an Error 11. Now, I looked on the internet and it says Error 11 occurs when custom IPSW firmware is involved. This is not the case for me. Maybe I'm looking at wrong sources? I just want to fix this and clean my iPod. Please help me 😟

Hi there Ajcard,

You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.

Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors

Check for hardware issues

Related errors: 1, 3, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020, 1669.

Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Error 1015 might happen after making unauthorized modifications to iOS, also called "jailbreaking."
