Definitely not kosher, and I too doubt that the uninstaller does what it says, but then again I don't let any of that junk near any of my Macs (except for the long suffering test Macs) and they have had every type of cleaner, optimiser, protector or just plain pretty me up utility I have found. Never found any that were useful, have found many that achieved nothing that can't be done without them, and several that are just plain bad.

I never had any problems with AppZapper, I think it's in a far better league then TuneOutMy Mac! 🙂

Agreed. A complete uninstall without using Terminal is labor-intensive, but worth it. Delete the Tuneupmymac app itself, if showing. Go to System Preferences / users / login items and highlight whatever Tuneupmymac or Geneio process shows there, and delete it ( use the minus button). Go to Finder / Go (in the top menu) / Computer / Library / Launch Agents and delete any Tuneup or Geneio process in that folder. Same for Computer / Library / Launch daemons. Go to Finder / Go (top menu) and while pressing Go, also press the Alt key, then select Library, then go to Safari / Local storage and delete anything related there. Go to Application Support and look for Tuneupmymac or Geneio, and delete. From the same ~ / Library folder as in the previous sentence go to Launch Agents and deleted related items there. Open Safari / go to Preferences / Security / Plugins, disable any weird plugins (also disable Flash while you are at it). Also in Safari / Preferences / Privacy clear all cookies and history. In Google Chrome do the same in Settings menu (top right, Settings / scroll down to Advanced Settings / Content settings / Manage individual plugins). Restart the machine.

When I tested AppZapper, I found that it had a dangerous habit of deleting things from the system with catastrophic results. Hence I strongly recommend against the use of AppZapper. I am just thankful that I was doing this test on a test disk drive that was a copy of my system so that all I had to do to recover was restore the disk drive after AppZapper finished with it.
