Hi, my podcast feed is not updating.

Is there a way that I can check my podcast feed in iTunes?

Here's the link that my Blubrry PowerPress plugin created http://desireestafford.com/feed/podcast/

The feed validator shows it as a webpage instead of a feed. How do I correct it?

Please see the FeedValidator report: lines 1-14 are garbage and need to be removed. After that it looks, at a quick glance, as if it's a feed but it won't be possible to check the coding until you'e removed the garbage.

I don't quite know how you've managed this - possibly you've tried to insert the code of the feed as the text of a web page, though what the bizarre javascript is about I can't say.

I'm afraid I can't advise on Blubrry - it certainly shouldn't be producing a mess like that and it's possible that you are misusing it in some way. The first 14 lines are the opening of a web page, but they don't complete, they just break off and then it continues with the proper feed code.

Probably you should start over. When you think you have produced a new feed you can check it in FeedValidator, and also by subscribing manually in iTunes: if it loads there and you can play the top episode, it's probably OK.

You're going to have to ensure that it saves the feed with the same filename and URL as before otherwise the Store will lose contact with your feed. As long as it's the same, just re-upload it: subscribers will see the changes pretty well immediately but the Store will take a couple of days or so to update.

To check whether your feed is working you can either click the 'Subscribe' button on your Store page, or choose 'Subscribe to podcast' from the file menu and enter the URL of your feed. Doing this simply enables your iTunes application to read the feed: it has no connection with the Store. Currently of course it's not working because of the problem with the feed.

Since you are hosting with libsyn - you would be much better off using your libsyn feed instead.

Wordpress managed feeds cause more issues on these boards than anything else.

If you want info about how to use your libsyn feed - which is the most reliable feed you can use - let me know.

There is no reason not to use your libsyn feed when you host with libsyn.
