Backing up older macs earlier than v10.5.7 on Time Capsule?
Is it possible to back up an older mac earlier than Mac OS X v10.5.7 onto the time capsule? And if so, how?

You do not need to use time machine.. there are other backup softwares.. eg SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner are both well known and respected.
Thanks for this LaPastenague! In terms on connection from the old Mac to the Time Capsule - what's the best way then?
Cable now and always for any mac at any time.. from ancient history to latest gadget on the market.. nothing beats cabled.. but if you must use wireless it is ok.. after you have done the first main backup so you only need to do small incrementals.
As in USB to USB and then the mac will recognise it as an external harddrive? Or can I use an ethernet cable?

Nope.. USB cannot use a TC as external..TC is now and forevermore a network drive. If you want a USB drive go and buy one.. do it.. do it now.. they are cheap, fast and reliable.. much Cheaper, much Faster and much more Reliable than a TC.
Or can I use an ethernet cable?
Yes,, cable, now and always forevermore.. that was the point of the previous post. The only decent network connection is ethernet. Wireless is a trouble prone, difficult heap of voodoo gremlins. To this day it is many times slower and many times worse than ethernet.
