Not likely...there have been a number of phishing scam emails going around for a few months now...do not reply to the email or click any links.
You can to do Apple support found in http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and ask for assistance to verify the email or not.

It's a scam. You can safely delete.

It is a genuine scam email. Apple will only send email to the customers when:
• When you first set up an account
• Immediately after you add or change a contact address on an Apple ID
Also, an email from Apple will never ask you for a password, Social Security Number, or full credit card number.
Please don't click any links the email contains.

If the e-mail did not address you with your full name, it's a scam.

Call AppleCare & ask to talk to "Account Security" to verify. However, scammers do use this method.
No, I do not have my junk mail box on my phone.
Look, no oner here works for Apple, thus no one here can answer your question. If you want an answer, call AppleCare, as I suggested you do in my initial post.
