Wallpaper Shadow

Hi Everyone,

In ios 7.1 for iPhone 5, whenever I use a picture from my camera roll as the wallpaper, regardless of the size of the image, a shadow gets cast over the top of the image, (the top 1/4 I'd say), and gets darker or lighter depending on how much I zoom on the image. I have reduce motion turned on and screen brightness turned all the way up. Changing those settings though hasn't had any effect on the shadow. I can live with it if I have to, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if by chance you'd found a way to correct this.

Thanks in advance!

This is really irritating! I have a lot of 'nature' wallpapers and every single blue sky now looks drab and overcast because of this STUPID shadow effect. Actually, about every one of my wallpapers is degraded from this effect whether it's a nature wallpaper or someone's naked ***. Can we please get an OPTION, Apple? I keep forgetting, 'choice' and 'customize' exists nowhere in the Apple dictionary.
