I cannot download Adobe Flash Player, nor can I download pages or other software updates. Help?

When I try to download Flash, the download box stops at 50% and tells me that I am unable to download because Safari is open, but even when I close all safari windows the same box appears. Also, when I tried downloading the system update (iTunes 11.1.5 OS...) OS X Mavericks, Pages, and my purchased music on iTunes, the downloads stopped and an error message reads "An error ocurred". What should I try to do?

Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.

2. Allow Plug-ins

Enable it.

Cannot Install Adobe Flash Player?

System Preferences > Security & Privacy

Unlock the lock, if you have to.

Allow apps downloaded from:

Select “Mac App store and identified developers”.

Quit System Preferences and try.
