iMessage says pic not delivered, but it reaches recipient

I've recently had trouble where sending an imessage picture returns a "not delivered" result, but the picture does reach the recipient. I've noticed this with multiple recipients. My wife also had the same issue trying to send me a picture. I retried multiple times and each time it reported "not delivered".

Are we the only ones running into this?

I'm having the same issues as well. I've tried turning off/signing out of my apple accounts on all my apple devices, and the problem would be resolved for few hours and later return. I've also reset my network settings and restarted my phone. The funny thing is normal text imessages are delievered, and my pictures if a read receipt is sent will state it has been read (despite having the warning of "not delievered").

Many of my other friends are having the same issue. Is this just a glitch in the imessage system?

I have been having the same issue -- sending contacts or photos through iMessage returns "Not Delivered," both incoming and outgoing. I've been getting picture texts from friends 6-7 times because they think it's not sending, and have probably sent picture texts similarly. I reset my network settings twice yesterday and hard rebooted my phone, to no avail. Are there any other solutions??

I get this too, in honor of "Orange is the new black" (and 100 is the new 700) I've decided that "not delivered is the new delivered".

I have an ipad and an iphone and when I send a picture on the iphone and this happens the pictures don't show up on the ipad. The ipad and the iphone used to be almost perfectly in sync now it seems like pictures are doing their own thing.

I have zero interest in having a genius or anyone else tell me to reset all my stuff. It's amazing that after years of imessage working basically flawlessly it's now totally unreliable. Interestingly enough with the most recent update to skype it works a lot better on the iphone. I guess what goes around comes around.

Same problem running iOS7 on iPhone5s. I've turned imessage off and on, reset network settings, and reset all data to no avail. Oddly I have the same problem with imessage on my mac and ipad. I can send a picture to my wife, she gets it, and I can watch imessage say 'delivered' then 'read' and then 'not delivered'. What's up Apple? Seems to me that this is a systemic iMessage problem since it is affecting all platforms.

My wife and my daughter also are experiencing the same problem.

I had the same problem. text messages would go tru Imessenger but pics would show delivered and then quickly show not delivered.. did all the troubleshootiing that has been suggested. Then I asked my sister how many pics she had on her album and she said 1000. I asked her to archive the ones she wanted and delete the rest. Once she did this everything works as designed. Not sure if the receivers default album only holds a certain amount of pics or if the size of the pics.... don't care got it working again... hate when things don't work as they are designed to work... So if the person that you are sending pics via I-messenger has a large amount in their album you might suggest making sure the ones they want or need are backed up and delete the rest.

Hope this resolves your problem....

have a good one...

I had the same issue. Reset network settings on the iphone. BEWARE! This will remove all your WiFi networks/passwords on all your other devices that sync with iCloud. It was a terrible pain, all so I wouldn't get a wrong "not delivered" message. And the "fix" didn't work. I still have the problem. All devices on 7.1.1; Macs on latest Mavericks. I'm going to live with it instead of try other measures. Not worth the risk of losing connection data.

Apple is a Joke, and so is iMessage. Everyone in my household is having the same issue, 4 iPhones and 4 pieces of crap. Little did I know that "Resetting all Network Settings" kills all your wifi network settings and you lose all your saved passwords. What a joke! It is not the local phone issue, it is global obviously...and Apple should have a fix for it, and get it out to the forums! Arrogant ********, I'm sick of these guys. Sounds like a Droid is in my future. Like Blackberry, the iPhone is passe, and losing market share like the dollar is losing value thanks to Obamanation! I will try the other solution on the rest of my family's phones and see if I can avoid blowing out their data too! JUNK.

I've got the same problem now, only started happening sine updating iOS to 7.1.2, on an iPhone 5s. Have tried switching off iMessage, power cycling then on, have tried resetting network settings, have tried a full restore from a previous backup on iTunes, all had not effect on the issue. 😟

Anyone else, also having done all of the above, still have this issue? I've started using WhatsApp more now due to this, which is a pity, as it was working quite nicely up to now.
