How to get around the stupid 100 mb download limit on ipad without wifi

Hi. I have a brand new IPad Air cellular + wifi with 128 gb. I also have an unlimited 3G connectivity. But the stupid 100 mb limit has made my life very difficult. Please suggest some ways to download files larger than 100mb without wifi. I am located in India and I have confirmed from my telecom service provider that there is no maximum limit on downloads.

Apple,

this 100mb limit is just stone age. I just came across it, and it makes my life miserable.

forced by my company to use an iPhone 6 I am reconsidering this ecosystem.

i am on the move for my company and have a sizeable volume. We talk gigabytes....

none of my various android devices were limited in this.

you won't win customers by setting them in cages.

btw I m writing from the Netherlands.

But you have to be connected to WiFi to download the 9.1 update!! 😢😟😠

But if it actually removes the limit or rasies it significantly that will be helpful. Apple has always tried to be helpful to those that do not have Steve Jobs' intellect by doing things for them and not allowing them to "hurt" themselves. Nice sometimes, frustrating on most occasions.

To be fair, I just found out that when you discard the message about not being able to download an app over 100MB and then start it again with an iPhone 6S and iOS 9.2 it starts anyway. But that still leaves my complaint that it pretends that it isn't possible at first. Furthermore, I also just found out that an iOS updat actually does require a WiFi connection. I could imagine that due to technical difficulties that's always necessery, but if not, it begs the same question: why am I nnot able to update the iOS through cellular data?

Just waisted hard-earned 1 grand on ipad pro to find out it can't download over 100mb over mobile network. Should have stayed in windows/android world. 😢

If that one thing was more important than every thing else about the device, you should have made sure that, before you spent the money it did what you want.

If you purchased if from Apple, you have 14 days to return the iPad. If not, I'm sure you'll be able to sell if for a very good price.

Old question, I know, but the best workaround I have found is to just have my wife or a co-worker share their mobile connection as wi-fi; I can then connect to that wi-fi to update or download files larger than 100mb.

A more complicated way would be to just remove your SIM-card and insert it into an old iPhone or Android that has sharing capability, start your own phone without a SIM, and again, just hook up through wi-fi (or even better, get a copy of your sim-card and have that permanently in a phone that can act as a router) Your cell-connection won't realize it's breaking the 100mb file-size limit when it's just sharing its connection; it's all just packets.
