I have a new Audi and I have tried to upload my itunes music to a SD card and then install it in the MMI (Multi Media Interface). Some album artwork is showing up, but some is not. I was told to covert the files to MP3's and I did that and still some of the album artwork is missing.
Music files in MP3 may or maynot have artwork. First make sure that the music indeed has some artwork. If the song does not have the artwork, then download before moving the MP3 to the SD card. If you are using iTunes, then download the artwork, itunes will have two files, music and artwork file. Then select the music in iTunes and transfer to the MP3 format. Drag those files to your SD card. Now when you insert the SD card in the AUDI you should see the album covers. Make sure you using the inserted SD card. Audi cars have multiple ways of listening to music, Glove box adapter, SD card, CD, Satelite, HD Radio... So make sure you are using the SD card for the music.

HMMM, It works for me but only on SD cards. So in your iTunes, you have downloaded the artwork. After artwork has been downloaded in iTunes, Select a song, go to FILE and "Create a New Version" and choose MP3. You should have two formats of the same song, one for iTunes and same song as the MP3 Version. Thus the same song twice in you file but with different formats. Make sure you only move MP3 to the SD card. Usually it's something very simple that you missing.
This is what I have done. It shows the album cover in itunes but then I move it and transfer it to the car and it doesn't. I went back in and deleted all the MP3's from my itunes and they are in the recycle bin. Some show album covers and some do not. I read somewhere that the album covers file might be too big to show but I do not know how to change it. Some album artwork I had to pull from Amazon as it could not be found in itunes. I wonder if I could add the artwork again and then take them from the recycle bin and move them to the SD card again and see if they would transfer then? Not really sure why it is doing this. I also changed the artist on some to just include the artist of the album and not who sang it with that person so I wouldn't have three or four of the same album with each seperate artist, but it is still listing them as different albums.

This helped as I was copying and pasting the artwork and it was not saving. Once I saved the artwork and then double clicked the box and then opened the artwork file and picked the one that applied to the album the artwork saved in the box. Finally!!!!!!! Thanks Again
