compatibility issues samsung wb150f with mac version 10.6.8/iphoto11 (version 9.2.3). Please assist.... :-)

my samsung digital camera (wb150f) won't connect/download onto my imac (OS version 10.6.8) with iphoto11 (version 9.2.3). Does this mean my computer is too old, or do I need an upgrade and/or new software? Anyone out there who has experienced this problem and know a solution?

Thanks for the ideas. However, unfortunately, when I connect the camera usb to my computer, iphoto automatically opens, but 'freezes' and never shows the camera as being connected. And then when I tried to access the image capture application, it only gave me a 'no camera or scanner connected' message, and the two options (device/shared) in the top left corner, are not active, so can't click on them either. In any event, FYI, I have been able to open the camera itself and find the photo files. As such, I did a 'select all' copy/paste into a new folder on my desk top. I am going to restart my computer now to unfreeze iphoto, and hopefully, I can just import the pics into iphoto from the new desktop folder. This is a bit of a pain, but seems to be the only simple solution at this point in time.
