Same issue in the states this morning. My MPB mail will not send and guess it is not receiveing either. I keep getting a message that I cannot connections to server: "p04-smtp.mail.me.com". All of my outbound mail keep going in circles. Yet I cannot find anywhere that there is a problem????
What have you done so far?
Mail was all working very well on both devices (iPhone and PC) until this morning and I haven't changed any setting on my PC or iPhone in the last few days. Problem is the same one both devices: iCloud SMTP server access.
I connected through company wifi (provider unknown) I tried through 3G Vodafone. Same SMTP problem.
I actually called Apple support (center in Ireland). The operator offered me to delete my mail account and re-install it, but I didn't accept to proceed because I wasn't convinced that it was the best solution to fix the problem.
Same problem here using iCloud in Mail on OS X 10.9, and located in Norway. I recieve mail just fine but sending fails with an error stating that p04-smtp.mail.me.com isn't responding. Other operations, like moving mail or deleting also works. The iCloud status page is all green, and the Mail connection doctor reports everything is OK.
If you are using an iCloud account deleting it is the next step, recreating it comes right after that. iCloud mail is an Imap system, your mail is kept on the server and will be downloaded to your Mac when you recreate the account.
I have been having same trouble since the 9th April, prior to that it was fine, I use Btinternet and am in Durham😟
its so frustrating, bt blame 'Mail' on Mac as i can login on website on both yahoo and Btinternet, but Apple don't seem to know what the problem is, its so frustraing
Go and have a coffee, in a coffee shop that doesn't use BT, that will eliminate BT from the puzzle.
I have the same problem, as have lots of people if you look on Twitter - really fed up with this - it's been hours and still that stupid status board shows green...
I have no email on iPhone or my Mac.
Why isn't Apple reporting this on the FRONT SUPPORT PAGE?
What happened to the box for Status that they used to have?
Please, anyone who has AppleCare (I can't afford it anymore), can you PLEASE call Apple, get an iCloud status, and post it here?
Thanks
iCloud send works from the Web client.
And you will receive a sent message from web client on OS X and iOS devices.
However, apparently we still can't SEND from our Macs and iOS devices.
And I am in that larger group that is not on posting on Twitter because it is working fine for us.
Do you use BT, and is this an iCloud account (it would be very helpful if everyone who posts here included some basic information, that makes finding a pattern easier.
I have just spoken with Apple Care an dthis is a know issue which as been around for a few hours and they are working on it -advice to log onto icloud.com which is not affected.

Same problem here - was on for 3 hours with apple and no resolution and they didn't know of this issue at all. They referred my account to the engineers, but sounds like it is their issue not mine. I am in London right now.
The problem with deleting and readding your account is that it also deletes all of your messages in your OUTBOX and you don't get those back - so if you tried to send a number of emails those are lost now if you delete and readd your account. I just went through this with the apple support team. A whole afternoon totally wasted.
No, I use Three, not BT and this is on 3G not on wifi which is not allowed where I work.
It is a me.com account which has now transmogrified itself to icloud
All other email accounts are working fine - hotmail - gmail etc it's just icloud
I have updated to the latest version of everything on an iPhone 5s and everything was hunky dory until around 10am this morning which was the first time I tried to send today.
As someone said, you can receive mail, move mail, delete mail, you just can't send it.
