Dear Apple Community.

I'm hoping to resolve an issue that I belive i caused durring a manual computer migration.

Durring migration i coppied my settings files directly from one iMac to another identical iMac.

Both running the same version of Mavericks.

I coppied the library folders for:
Safari

Mail

Calendar

Preferences

On the previous computer I had notifications for Macrumors.com

Now it seems that the new computer thinks that they are enabled although they dont show in the notification center.

See pics below

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.

First, empty the Trash, if possible.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) 2>&- | wc -l | pbcopy

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.

Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.

The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.

The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

After some troubleshooting i was able to locate a .plist file that had information about push notifications in the Safari Library folder

/library/safari/RemoteNotifications/permissions.plist

I deleted this entire folder,

Quit safari,

Opened safari,

Navigated to Macrumors.com

It did ask me to enable push notifications again although it gave me the option to resubscribe on the web page once again.

Push notifications now show up in the notification control pannel.

System preferences -> Notifications

Safari's notification pannel through Preferences still does not show.

Where would i find this option?

It should be at the bottom of the Notifications tab in the Safari preferences dialog, but I see from your last screenshot that it's missing.

Please check the version number of Safari. If your system is fully updated, it should be 7.0.3. Otherwise you're probably running an outdated copy of the application. Delete it and use the one in the Applications folder.

You wrote this:

I dont have the same option on my version of Safari.

"Version 7.0.2 (9537.74.9)"

You also wrote this:

The version of Safari in my application folder is the 7.0.3

So you are running the wrong version.

Right-click or control-click the icon in the Dock and select

Options ▹ Show in Finder

from the popup menu. A folder should open with the app selected. Quit it and drag it to the Trash. Drag the icon in the Applications folder into the Dock.
