While watching a Net Flick movie my iMac screen locked up with the screen having red squares all over it like measles ? Could not leave screen so turned it off and it just repeats. The same thing may even be getting worse. Software is up to date. Logged off net flicks and back in still problem. Boot up also hangs with the little dots or squares of other colors?f

If you see unexpected spots of color on your iMac display, first boot your computer into Safe Mode and see if the same behavior occurs there. You can find the steps to boot into Safe Mode here:

You have a graphics card problem. Take the system to an Apple store to be properly diagnosed and fixed for free under the warranty. If you are outside the warranty period you will have to pay for the repairs.
