i can't customize my voicemail greeting

Don't forget to delete all of your old voice mails. That fixed it for me.

I have tried all of the suggestions above and still can't save a custom voicemail greeting. seems like such a simple task, I can't believe Apple hasn't fixed this bug. Any other suggestions? =)

Tried all of these suggestions. Still can't get voicemail to record greeting. Says it is on custom greeting, won't allow me to play. Won't allow me to switch to default. Suggestions?

This was extremely helpful followed your instructions and worked like a charm, on IOS 9.

I tried all of the other suggestions (turning off Wi-Fi; restarting my phone; clearing VMs) and none worked. Changing my VM password finally resolved it.

I have tried every single one of these suggestions and nothing has worked...any other ideas to avoid having to go to the genius bar?

What did your cell provider suggest when you talked to them?

Thank you so much! I tried every other suggestion on this thread first (I wanted to save a few of the messages), but none of them helped. Deleting all my voicemails was the only thing that worked.

I tried everything else first - deleted all messages, cleared deleted messages, rebooted phone, etc. Then I found your solution and it worked! Thanks, Joe B. Skeen!

Thank you SO much. The combination of putting it on cell data instead of WIFI and deleting the old voice mails did it!
