Angle viewer issues?? :-(

We are actually waitning for those screenshots. That is the best way to see what you are seeing and try to understand what the problem is.

I selected both clips, right clicked and chose the "new multicam clip" action...When the multicam clip is dragged to the timeline things just don't seem to work the way it should and it wasn't always this way

I'm sure the angles are supposed to show up in the angle viewer, with the mouse pointer changing to a blade, automatically then??

Yes, that sounds right. What are you getting instead? Again, a screenshot is welcome!

Nothing wrong so far.

You are just missing the next step:

Window->Viewer Display->Show Angles

and you're good to go.
