My iPhone was sitting in the sun and the screen went black.

I know it still works because i can hear the camera sound. I've held the home and power buttons but the icon never shows. I've restored on Itunes and nothing.

Hi mbgray2002,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

Resetting and restoring your iPhone are the best troubleshooting steps to use if the screen is blank. Additionally, make sure you've charged your phone by connecting it to a power outlet using the USB cable that came with your device and an Apple USB power adapter. If you did not already, also be sure to perform this step from the iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting article above:

While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.

If your screen remains dark, your iPhone needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.
