I guess you also think that people who died of lung cancer in the 1950s were the problem rather than the cigarettes they were smoking? I'm not saying Apple products are going to kill anyone, but if they are going to sell devices that cause painful skin problems they should come with a health warning.

It is also not like this is a peanut allergy, no one walks into an Apple store and asks for a nickel device so they should make devices that won't cause problems for any of their customers unless there is a specific demand for a particular harmful material. There are 40,000 Google results for 'Apple nickel allergy' alone and that is just the people who have suspected there is a problem and taken the time to write about it. There may be millions who are suffering and haven't even suspected there may be a link to a device they are using. It is about time that Apple look into this and remove harmful materials from their products!

I have had a nickel allergy since I was a kid; I couldn't wear metal watches or necklaces, couldn't wear shirts with metal buttons, and even had to tape over the metal rings on the chairs in elementary school. With that being said, I had an iPhone 5 for two years and now I have an iPhone 6, and I have never had a problem with them. I didn't even know "iPhone nickel allergy" was a thing until I saw this post. Here are my thoughts:

1) Are you 100% sure this is a nickel allergy and not some other allergy?

2) Are you sure the iPhone is actually the thing causing you to break out? Could it be something else you began doing/using around the same time you got the iPhone?

3) If you are sure it is the iPhone and you think it is the screen that is causing you to break out, do you have a screen protector on the phone? If so, maybe you are actually allergic to a material in the screen protector. If not, I would suggest getting a screen protector - this might solve the allergy problem and it protects your phone so it's a win-win!

4) If you are sure it is the iPhone and you think it is the edge or back of the phone causing you to break out, do you have a case on your phone? If not, I would suggest getting a case. Also a win-win for solving the allergy problem and protecting your phone!

Good luck!

I've been having a reaction to something for more than a year and finally figured out it was to my iphone 5 otterbox case. It is where it touches my face. When I use speaker phone, I'm fine. Hands get itchy sometimes. I'm allergic to nickel and latex. I assumed otterboxes were silicone, but it is appearing not. Perhaps you have latex allergy as well. It only happens along where the rubbery parts in the corners hit me. Hope that helps.

I'm having the same problem with the iPhone 6 & Magic Trackpad (which I bought at the same time). I'm getting blisters on my fingertips in the exact places I'm using to touch the glass. Never had the problem before with previous iPads/ iPhones or my older Macbook Air track pad. I'm guessing it is either something in the new glass they are using or some product they are using to clean it before it leaves the factory. I did wipe the screens off and it seems to have got slightly better, but it is still an issue.

I've suddenly started getting something similar. Ive never had any problems with any Apple products. Ive owned several iphones, iPads and on my second MBP. my old 7 one just went belly up so i have bought a new MBP 2 weeks ago. ive noticed that when i use it, my hands become itchy although i have only just started to think it could be my MBP in the last day of 2. I'm still testing it out this idea as it is a strange one. its only been a few days.

my hands become blotchy and itchy. last night i had a light rash up my arm, not sure how, and i was using the MBP with short sleeves on.

tonight when I got in from work, which is when i use my MBP, it happened again. a short time on the MBP and itchyness returned.

as i said before, this is very early days for me, but both times i was charging and using my MBP. ive put it down, let it finish its charge, and then started to use it again. It doesn't seem as bad.

Odd to say the least. Interested in other peoples view

A very dismissive attitude. If i think my Apple product is doing something to my skin, then a conversation on the Apple Forum is valid. If i continues i will seek other options, but to tell me i cant discuss a problem i think might be related to be Apple product doesn't help.

Its very surprising to me that this is happening. I've owned apple products for 9 years and this has never crossed my mind until yesterday evening. i made a few searches on google and the Apple Forums and there are plenty of people who appear to think the same.

Its not outside the realms of possibility that, like in other industries that use materials and chemicals that one here my irritate somehow.

Why dont you let us who appear to have an issue discuss it?

I'm adding to a 'discussion' someone else started about an issue i noticed on myself in the last few days from an Apple product. I'm using it to gain knowledge on what it could be. If you dont care, dont answer. Looks like plenty of people do as they have been posting about on here on the Discussions.

I'm not asking you to solve my medical problems. I am discussing with others who appear to have similar symptoms how they think they appear. type the problem into Google and these forums appear. Are you tell me i cant add my comments to an already in progress discussion?

I'm discussing this elsewhere also

Your problem is not a technical support problem that can be resolved by your fellow users. The point is that there is no ay for anyone here to help you.
