You have the same problem as me. I tried everything, I restored my home network and apple tv1 to default setting and started reconfiguring everything from the beginning when I was done, the problems did not go away. I don't know what else to try. With so many of us having this problem now, it most be something Apple did to their network servers or internal to the Apple Store, but I am uable to get any type of response from Apple.

If anyone fine a solution please let me know. Thanks

I downloaded the film to my macbook, I've synced it across to ATV1. It's there, I can see it, but the gif stutters in and out and when I select it to watch, I get a notice saying there are no unwatched movies in my library. I'll be applying for a refund for the film and carefully thinking about continuing with Apple products in future, what's happened to our world when it would be quicker, easier and safer to rent a disk from the shop down the road like I did in 1985.

Good day,

I am currently residing in UAE, and from last night i also expirience the same problem, i though it was my ATV1 have the issue but when i tried to use my back up apple tv 1st generation it has the same problem.. i have 4 1st generation ATV and every room i set up ATV 1st generation, and all have the same issue.. even i restore it to factory default.. i guess the reason is the 1st generation comes with the software 3.0.2 and the apple stop sending latest software for apple tv 1st gen reason why it can not connect to itunes anymore...good luck i hope apple store can do something about it instead of buying a new set of new apple tv...

Really dissapointed that nothing has come out from Apple at this stage if in fact the ATV1 has been cut loose and no longer gets iTunes support. I mean I have 3 current running series pass on my ATV1 I won't be able to watch now unless I invest in an ATV3, but why would I want to do that when a rumor about the 4th generation announcement is imminent?

Half thinking of contacting the support and stumping up the £25 for a callback just to get some answers..............

I have the same problem as all of you,

iTunes store and radio etc. is no longer visible altough I can live with that, but the anoying part ( to put it mildly) is that it looks like the appleTV is running at half processing capacity. It keeps refreshing the icons and when playing a videoclip it keeps freezing and even when playing a music file the time indicator can't keep up with the sound.

Synchronizing with PC, internet, WiFi is all working fine

Hopefully Apple comes with some kind of fix for the issue.

Same problem: just to summarize - Apple TV 1st generation, iTunes 11.1.5 (5); last night 17 April - ATV stopped syncing. Tried factory reset of ATV and software updates and re-pairing ATV to iTunes. Tried several times. iTunes content not available except for trailers. When I can get ATV to sync, which I can't seem to be able to do now, content played but juddered badly - unwatchable. Run diagnostics etc which confirm ATV is working correctly. Comforted by the fact that others seem to have had the problem at the same time, but concerned that Apple are withdrawing support for this product. Surely this is a glitch that will be fixed rather than an intentional strategy to force ATV model upgrades?

Some comment from Apple would be appreciated; if there is a glitch, happy to wait for a solution - just want to know that the issue is being addressed.

Good morning all. I have been reading all the posts and similar posts and want to note a few things:

1. As of this morning (New York City time) I am still having the same problem that I have been writing on.

2. Big thanks to Elkoth who has been doing his best to bring in all the others posting on different Apple Support Communities Discussion boards about the same issue. Maybe we should all get out of this one as it has the green check"This Solved My Question" associated with it.

3. Most of the contributors to this thread have an ATV 1st generation like me. I have read in different threads and maybe this one as well that some are experiencing this issue with ATV 2nd and 3rd generation as well. Please follow up and restate your device.

4. I read mention of jailbroken ATV 1st generation and it made me wonder if anyone/everyone/no one following this thread had/has their Apple TV 1st generation jailbreaked prior to doing the factory restore.

5. Factory restore does not solve the problem.

6. The problem is happening all over the world including UAE, Europe, and Brooklyn (BROOKLYN!!!! YAHHHHH!).

7. If this is happening with the ATV 3rd generation as well, running out to buy a new ATV is a waste of time and effort for the next few days (unless you read item 10 first).

8. ATV is rumored to being shipping in the late fall/early winter of 2014 meaning if this issue is not resolved, the ATV 3rd generation users have a SERIOUS issue on their hands unless Apple resolves this issue. If you have an ATV 3rd generation please speak up so that we can track who is affected and if we should go out and drop $99 for an item that will be replaced in 8 months or so with an ATV 4th generation. I find it odd that none of the usual suspects like macintouch or ipodlounge have mentioned this issue at all.

9. Does anyone have Apple phone support and reached out to Apple for some insight or the Genius Bar?

10. And finally, did anyone actually go out and buy a new ATV 3rd generation and if so, are you having the issue? I would assume that you now have free 90 day phone support. If so, throw us a bone and tell us your experience with them!!!

unable to see top movies search and other functions. I can see the photos and tv shows I have saved on apple tv but can not see the iTunes store.
