Facetime connects then fails- any known issues?

Facetime connects then suddenly fails. This happens when I call someone or they call me. No WiFi issues. Is happening from BOTH directions. Using ipad and iMac. Tried 2 different ipads. Any current issues anyone knows of as of Apriil 17?

thanks!

Hi, just to confirm "something", Im having this issue, my wife is, my mother in law is, my work colleague is AND my macbook is. Its not iphone specific, its not ipad specific and its not macbook specific...

Have just spent an hour chatting with support about it - we've done hardward recycles, network router reboots, etc, etc and i will get a call back tomorrow with some more suggestions.

But as I have pointed out - all 5 devices are on different networks, different OS versions (5 thru to 7) and in different locales around UK.

Theres not one common element to indicate an issue with OS5, or O2 network or BT broadband - we're all different yet are all having the same issue.

On the basis of A and B testing Ive been able to show Apple Support the only constant in this is Facetime - thats the only thing linking us all together as a common point of failure.

Currently their opinion is all facetime servers are green lit without issue having gone to view the status.

I have directed their attention to the forum threads in the last 24 hours here that all relate to facetime - therefore the old "have you tried turning it on and off" is redundant - its definately not an individual phones fault - its service related.

Id be confident to say issue lies at the facetime servers in some capacity.

I hope the last hour of my time with their advanced support staff has been able to show and eliminate any issues from the consumers side so we dont have to go through the basics and instead we can get some techs looking on the service and server side.

Same problem here. I'm in the US, and have never before experienced any issue using Facetime on the same Apple ID across multiple devices. As of two days ago, Facetime will fail after displaying "connecting" for a few seconds. This happens in both directions on Mac, iPad and iPhone 4s; I've tried signing in and out of every device in every combination possible. I'm updating to Mavericks and IOS 7.1 as we speak--hopefully that will help, but I doubt it.

That document isn't a resolution it's an agenda. People don't want to update to the later os and they shouldn't have to. It worked as it was and then within 24 hours it stopped. I'm an app developer so I have to have certain os installed on my phone in order to test apps for the wider community. Forcing me to upgrade stops me from ensuring support on os 5 and 6.

This isn't a resolution it's a cop out to get everyone on the latest os. There's no reason given to why it stopped working and as a tech person I can tell you if it worked 24 hours before and then stopped you simply roll back your system to a prior instance and it will be back in place. I have spent hours in calls with apple who deny issue on their servers yet we can't all be wrong...
