Battery failed in iPad (original) S/N V5******Z39, sent it in and received replacement S/N CQ****9UZ...
The original had 6.0.? as OS, This one advises that IOS 5.1.1
A large number of my 'old' apps won't work on the replacement unit.

The iPad 1 as shown by your serial number, could not be upgraded to anything higher than 5.1.1.

The original iPad does not support any iOS version higher than 5.1.1.
If your original iPad had a higher version, it must have been tampered with in an unsupported way.
I did err. the 'old' OS was in fact 5.X.X.
How do I obtain legacy versions of apps? When I performed the restore apps like 'where is my iPhone' (which was running on the returned unit) state that I must upgrade. That is why I supposed that the 'old' OS was 6.0.X.
Thank you! Was able to obtain purchased apps, but no joy for other older apps... Suggestions?
What might "other older apps" mean? Are these apps that were purchased using a different Apple ID, and therefore technically do not appear as if they belong to you?
Does "older" imply the apps are no longer in existence?
If either of the above are true, you cannot get the apps.
