Why does my Facetime keep saying call failed? Everyone I try to call says same.
Same here. Every time I tried to use Face Time today, all calls failed.
There has been an ongoing problem with FaceTime for the past couple of days. Until Apple gets it sorted, you will just have to wait.
Sorry,
GB
Please advise as to when Apple can get this sorted out.
this is pretty annoying.. I believe it starts on April 18th night-ish. Till this noon (April 20th), I still counld't use facetime on mac, iphone, nor ipad.
We wouldn't know - we are just users like you. We are all in the same boat - just have to wait.

It works between iOS 7, but doesn't works between iOS 6 and iOS 7 users. It's very annoying that Apple issued no warning about this problem.
This totally makes sense then! Thanks!
This is not exactly true.
I am having problems connecting between two iOS6 devices ( iphone 4 and ipad2) and between my Mac running 10.7.5 ( Lion) and the other two.
I have found a system log that suggest the issue is connected to the caller ID ( unidentified ID ) - which obviously does not make sense as last week everything was working fine with the same Apple ID ( and email addresses ). So this seems to be Apple's issue, not our settings configuration.
Responses here suggesting to switch off/on, sign in/out Apple ID do not work.
I tried it between iOS 6 users and didn't work. It seems like it only works between iOS 7 users. A friend of mine updated her iPhone to iOS 7 and now it works for her. Until Apple fixes the problem which is unlikely, just update it to iOS 7. Cheers!
It's highly unlikely that Apple has just switched off functionality of Facetime for people with older devices or operating systems. It's like saying, iTunes or iPhoto on Mac will suddenly stop working because people still have Snow Leopard. This is an issue related to Caller ID which Apple must sort out.
Facetime works now between iDevices using wireless carrier, in this case ATT (NOT WiFi). Signing out of iCloud and signing back in makes no difference, i.e. no joy.
Bu the problem is not restricted to iDevices only. The same happens on Macs which are sold with Facetime build in ( system app ) so must be able work on Wi-Fi.
My two cents... Since wednesday april 17, Facetime stopped working between my mom's Macbook Pro 2010 on Mavericks 10.9.1 and my iPhone 5S on iOS 7.1. Display says "connecting" forever until we hang up. Then the call appears as "missed". Other than that my Facetime works normally between iOS 7 devices. In the mean time, Skype with mom...
