Double Underline Green hyperlinks

Go to Safari / Preferences / Privacy and click on Remove All Website Data.

Still in Safari / Preferences, click Security, check the box for Block pop-up windows.

Finally, still in Safari / Preferences, click Extensions and delete anyting you did not yourself install.

Now, still with Safari running, type command, option and E - all three keys together.

Would you know how to resolve this on an iPad? Thanks

I am still having these issues. Any other hints? BTW- what does command option E do? I didnt notice a change.

Command, option, E, all three keys together, empties the cache. Nothing on the screen will change.

In addition to those, which seem to have disappeared after running the suggestions posted here, I all of a sudden have a banner ad on my Google.ca search page that only appeared today -- along with the double gree links.

How can I search my computer for viruses? I downloaded an app called mPlayerX. I know that has caused the infection. How do I delete all files associated with it?

THIS HAS NOT GONE AWAY!

I restarted my MacBook and now I have NO IDEA what else might be infected -- Apple seems to have NO REFERENCE on how to scan and eliminate viruses or malware, except for prevention.

Do I REALLY have to delete this user account and create a new one?

Did anyone find a solution to this? I have tried most things by now, blocking pop-ups, removing history, removing anything I have downloaded recently, uninstalled extensions etc. Nothing helps so far. PLEASE help!

Mine still didn't work - and Command + Option + E didn't seem to do anything. I've downloaded quite a few add-ons recently, and it was at this point that I began noticing the pop-up ads; but I see nothing in extensions. Please correct me if I'm missing anything: I'm really quite terrible at the Internet.

You may have inadvertently or unknowingly installed some adware. The Safe Mac provide a tool for removing the annoyance. Best to read the article first to see if the description matches your issue, and it's always a good plan to have backup to restore from if things go wrong (they shouldn't):
