Bug in music app in control center

We could play from where we left off last, even if the music app wasnt on, by directly pressing the play/pause button in mic/earpod. But in the new iOS 7, the music does not play on pressing the button. Also the app in control center changes to last used app say facebook instead of Music, which is frustrating.

The play/pause button on the earphones works fine for me in iOS 7.1.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.

Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

No data will be lost.

It doesn for everyone else.

What are you talking about? What "last used app in control center"??? Conrol Center doesn't show the last used app. Either your phone is jailbroken or you don't have a real iPhone,

"menu seen when swiping up"? Whatever are you referring to??

Control Center has no "menu", never has.User uploaded file

Across the bottom of Control Center are icons for Flashlight, Clock, Calculator, and Camera apps

Across the top are icons for Airplane mode, WiFi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb and Portrait lock settings

In the middle are the music play and volume controls

Below the music controls are the AirDrop and AirPlay buttons

NOTHING ELSE - NO FACEBOOK, EVER.

Neither my phone nor the photo has been hacked or doctored in any way, it started appearing like that after the 7.1 update on an iPhone 5s.

To close the music app I double click on the home button & swipe up to fully close it, then I opened Facebook & then it appears on the control centre.

Sorry but not going to reply any further if I'm going to be accused of doctoring proof when trying to show the op that they've not alone with having Facebook listed on their control centre. OP I hope you find the answer.

you modular are a real pain to deal with. Came into this thread since I'm facing the same problem just after 7.1.1

I am attaching my own image and my 5s isn't jailbroken unless Apple had sold me o e of those something we know just don't happen.

Just because you're not having this problem doesn't mean we are lying or st*pid. i come to these discussion boards trying to get some help. If you cannot apport any then you'd better stay silent on it

I cannot attach an image since I'm on my iPhone so there are no options to include one, at least none that I'm aware of but on my control center it shows El Norte.

El Norte is the name of the app to my newspaper and it wasn't the last opened but the last app in where I played an audio file, so the problem should be something related to where you last played audio instead of the music app content. I have closed the El Norte app and still it shows.

So frustrating

If you don't like what I have to say, don't deal with it. I owe you nothing - neither does anyone here.

I've tried many phones and none of them do what you claim. If your phone isn't hacked, it's grossly malfunctioning. Time to restore:

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

FYI - You can't send images from an iOS device to this forum: You send an image to your computer, click the image (camera) icon at the top of the response box and attach from your computer.

exactly you mod... I said I couldn't attach the image cause I was on my iPhone and I wasn't turning on my macbook just to include the image at that time.

Here I am including it. And it hasn't been altered.

As I said, I am not exactly sure if it started happening with iOS 7.1 but I noticed recently after the 7.1.1

The first time I could only see "Safari" and couldn't understand why...

Then it was "Facebook".

Yesterday when I saw "El Norte" the only thing that I remembered was that like an hour before I was surfing my newspaper app and watched a video in there, and then did recall that sure, I have seen/heard silly posts on Facebook or watched something in Safari... yes, it's like the last application you used that had video/sound on it stays and I thought that control should only apply to the "Music" application.

Here I am attaching. And no, you don't owe me anything. Your attitude should be better. No one here is coming to read doctorated comments telling us that we are making up stories, altering images or having hacked iPhones.

If I had hacked my iPhone I wouldn't been complaining or asking help within Apple communities. Can you get that?

Just because something works for you doesn't mean there are not glitches in iOS that may affect certain equipments.

It's happening.

Great it is working ok to some of you, but there is a bug affecting some.

Funny I found a LOT of posts everywhere (just google Modular) about the same thing. and it seems that it's "a feature" of the media controls in Control Centre that is not pretty well accepted by a lot of us.

Maybe it is your phone the one is not working properly or you're just writing back cause you have plenty of time.

Example:

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1716667

Just do that yourself:

Go to Safari or Facebook (youtube app doesn't apply to it)

Watch a video/audio clip there

Lock your phone or whatever

open your Control Center and you HAVE to see "Safari" or "Facebook" or whatever app you last used to play media

Press on play and it will obviously not resume playing

If you are on Safari for example and still have the page with the media link active, it will show the link but not resume it; you can close the page or even close safari, and in control centre you'll see "Safari" and clicking on Play won't resume anything.

I hope you try it, and if it doesn't shows on your iPhone, then you'd better be going to an apple store and get it checked up.

once again, just for you to see this:

Apparently, and not surprisingly, You didn't read my earlier posts, where I described doing exactly what you suggested and was able to get Control Center to show "Music" after closing the Musc app but NEVER showing the name of any other apps.

Since updating to 7.1.1, it won't eve show Music. I've tried this on 8 phones running 7.1.1 and NONE behave differently. Your concept of "a lot" having this issue is disordered.

Sincey phone and all others I tried work as expected, I have no issues to deal with. OTOH, you do.

I been violating my policy to DNFTT by continuing to post in this thread. Time for me to put it in effect.
