iOS 7.1.1 Signal loss

I have the same problem too.

Before updating my 4S to 7.1.1 I had 4 bars of coverage.

After updating my phone in the same room where I was getting 4 bars, I now only have 1 or 2 bars.

I've reset my network settings and rebooted my phone but that didn't fix it.

We are having the same issue with iPhone 4 and 4S. We even purchased an AT&T micro-cell device for our home with the hopes that would stop dropping calls and that has not had any effect on the problem. This is not a carrier issue, this is certainly an Apple issue. If only there was a way to uninstall 7.1!

If you go to your mobile settings and turn 3G/4G off and leave it for a few seconds then turn it back on it should be fixed.

Same goes if you don't use 3G/4G. If you don't use them and they are already turned off then turn them on for a few seconds then off again and it should be fixed.

My iPhone signal is back to normal since then.

We tried that. Reset all network settings, restored the phones from backup

Basically tried every thing there is available until Apple

Same here on 4s. Typically had 4 or 5 dots before. Now 3 or 4 in the same location. I suspect it a meter reporting thing as the signal seem'ed to be 3 or 4 bars back in iOS 5 and 6 days in the same location then iOS7 bumped it up to 5 a lot of the time. iOS 7.1.1 appears to be like it used to be (from what I remember)

I have the same problem on my 5s signal is really bad now it never use to be like this I have had many models of iPhones and never had this problem after a software update on the upside I do work for a major cellular carrier so I think it might be time to move on

I wish it was just a way iOS converted the signal strength to the graphic on the screen. We have had more trouble with dropped calls since this update. A lot of time our phones won't even attach to the 3G microcell we bought from AT&T to fix the issue. Apple needs to recognize that this is an issue and fix it.

Same with me, my iPhone 5s since update has horrible signal and drops calls because it won't switch towers. I travel all over the country with my phone and until this update I've not had this issue with apple, only AT&T's crappy service. I'm having issues on highways I have traveled many times with no issues until now. Apple better fix this issue fast !!!!

Same for me. I've had lots of dropped calls and voicemail (i.e no signal) since the update 😟

My iPhone 4S also indicates 'only' 3 dots for network carrier signal with iOS7.1.1 instead of 5 dots with previous iOS versions (e.g. 7.1)

I am also having this issue. I am unable to access apps and am having problems with sending text messages. This was never a problem before I updated to IOS 7.1.1. Plus I see my battery life dwindling away faster than ever.

I called my Carrie and they did a manufacture warranty clam on my phone and I got sent a credited like new replacement and it shipped with iOS 7.0 the only draw back is I could not restore from

Back up I had to set it up as a new iphone but at least now I have service

Same for me have an iphone 4 now after update I'm beginning to not be able to use it due to constantly having no service.

I thought it was only me...it's so widespread.
