Screen locked sideways?

My screen is all of a sudden locked sideways. I can't get it to rotate using the side button. Anyone know another way to free it up so that it rotates automatically again?

iPad 2, iOS 7.1

My control center has a mute bell instead of a lock button in that position. I have an IPad2 with IOS 7.1?

I didn't see the lock button but I just did a full shutdown and restart. The rotation is working now. Thanks for your help!
