Washed iPod in washing machine

my ipod nano ended up getting washed in my washing machine, and now it will not turn on. it is completely fried. (or so i think...) does anyone else have this problem, and if so, is there a way to fix it? and if there isn't how do i get it replaced?

needhelpbadly!,

Apple won't repair it because washing the iPod is not something that is covered by the warranty.

Many people have had luck reviving a washed iPod by letting it sit on end in a warm dry room (not in the sun and not using the clothes dryer or hair dryer) for a week. Don't try turning it on or charging it for the whole week.

After a full week of letting it dry out, then try charging it and see if there are signs of life. You may get lucky. If not, you may be able to have a place like www.ipodresq.com repair it for less than what a new nano would cost.

Good luck,

Nikki
