iPhone 5s Performance Problem after updating to 7.1.1

Hi everyone,

I was using ios 7 which come originally when you but iPhone 5s , it was great , fast and adorable .

yesterday I updated my iPhone 5s to ios 7.1.1

unfortunately I have faced some problems , the iphone 5s is now slower , the apps open slower than the ios 7,

I have iphone 5 which has ios 7.0.4 and it's much faster and smoother than the iphone 5s which has ios 7.1.1 ,

I was really disappointed about that ,

what do you think the problem is ?

Regards

If Only I had a dollar each time..

don't worry Jura, we all feel the same, 5s + 7.04 was indeed the best phone

5s+7.1+long carrier name = slower than my original first generation iphone2g

I can't speak here for their latest betas, because it is against the rules and my comment will be deleted. but what I can tell you is if Apple doesn't solve this with 8.0 you can consider me bye bye.

I've been using apple products for more than 14 years, I've been developing for third party companies since 2005 and also been a signed/registered Developer my self for a good 3-4 years?

Back in the old day they released 7-9 betas before an official release..

and even beta 1 wasn't that bad to begin with.

Surely all betas always had bugs but never were they filled so overwhelmingly with problems - so you could focus on fine tunning the ios- solving bugs like this and thus achieving a super stable experience for the costumer.

it was unheard-of to brake things in such a manner in a new release like going from 2.1 to 2.2, and you could ALWAYS go back to earlier versions anyway!!

What I can also say from how things seem to be going, is that this particular bug it doesn't seem to be a priority for apple because they have so many things to fix with ios8.

If you want to stand a chance with this.

If you are a developer PLEASE open an issue and label it long carrier name problem

and describe how the phone becomes slow and unresponsive

The more times somebody opens a bug issue for a problem, the more likely is to be fixed.

This is how apple works these days.

If in the meanwhile this is Fixed in one of their new betas (like 8 beta 2 or beta 3) I will let you know

if you don't hear from me again it means that apple is not fixing this any time soon. So don't bother upgrading because you will have a broken phone for a much longer time than if you don't upgrade.

Hi. I was having the same issue after recently getting a new 5s operating 7.1.2 The phone for the past few weeks has been performing a lot slower than my previous 5 which was performing a lot quicker and snappier. I have been searching for a solution in the forums and nothing. I think I have found a solution though and I don't know how this works but it does. I simply changed the time format to 24 hours and voila it seemed to have fixed the problem. The 5s operates as it was designed to do now. It is so much snappier and responsive now with no lagging when loading apps or switching between apps and no more slow loading blue bar while loading webpages. Im very happy with the speed of the phone now so just flagging it up as a potential solution to all you good folks. Hope it works for you too. Let us know if it makes a difference. I'm hoping apple bring out a fix in this because I much prefer 12 hour time format.

HI guys

I have the same problem with long carrier name and lag on iphone 5s. It is awful!! This bug gives us no reason to update to iphone 6 or upcoming models. The phone is slower than iphone 4s.

Has anyone figured something out? I opened a bug report but still no answer from apple. 10+ days have passed.

Did apple answer to other bug reports about this problem?
