Keep getting Pop-ups from fuq.com

When visiting various other online merchants, we randomly get redirected to a site (fuq.com) and it's not every time.???

Tried -I have no bookmarks for landsend. Deleted cookies and history and still comes up randomly. Went so far as to block the website under restrictions. Now, I have to input a security code to access any site that shows initially blocked. It's like the site is trying to pop-up randomly (it rotates through a few different sites, a antivirus merchant, a dating site and the one I mentioned earlier). Not sure what else to do

I also had the same thing happen to my wife's mini and our other ipad this morning. After a rest and clearing history and clearing cookies and data I clicked on Advanced and turned-off JavaScript and then clicked on Website data and deleted everthing under this option. I also changed the option for Block Cookies from third parties and advertisers to always.

I have a Netgear router so I setup an account with OpenDNS as metioned above and block and blacklisted the sites m.fuq.com and fuq.com.

Hope that helps!!!

A lot of ads have code built into them now to redirect people to a site and even the apps to to view an app that they want you to see.

It is likely that the website that you are visiting doesn't have any idea that this is happening because they are not causing it to happen.

I had an app on my iPhone that would occasionally direct me to the App Store to view clash of clans. I removed the app because I was tired of it happening. The same app on my iPad has no ads so I never have that problem.

If this is happening on sites where this definitely should not be happening, you probably have a compromised network, most likely a compromised wireless router. See:

How to manage a hacked wireless router

There is no known malware capable of infecting an iPad, unless it has been jailbroken (ie, hacked to allow installation of apps from somewhere other than the App Store). So this is not being caused by malware on the iPad.

Of course and that is what I suspect with all of these people posting on this site. Those banner ads that redirect are catching on. I've had them happen within apps as well. I got so tired of them, I deleted the apps. It's likely the app developer and in the case of people visiting this website, the site owner, it's likely they don't know that they are serving up ads that do this.
