Was it a photo? Were the finer face details the same?
Canon have told me the following:
Further to your enquiry regarding your PIXMA MG6350, we suspect that the issue might be caused by the application that you are using for printing your photographs.
We suggest to try using the Canon software for testing purpose. Please find the download for the Canon photo printing software in the link below:

Hi I have tried to use the image garden and the results are still the same. The windows laptop printing on default looks much sharper and clearer. More defined. The Macbook pro printing through image garden looks airbrushed just as it did through other applications. Please help.
Thanks

Thank you for your reply. We are sorry to read that the photo quality did not improve when printing from My Image Garden.
When you print using genuine Canon inks and paper and print using Canon software, the correct profiles should be used. If this is confirmed, we recommend to check the driver version.
Open printers and scanners in system preferences, highlight the MG6300 series printer and select options and supplies. The driver version should be 10.84.2.0. If this is not the driver version listed, close options and supplies, highlight the printer and click the -. Click the + to add the MG6300 series printer and confirm that “print using” shows the Canon MG6300 series. When the printer is added, try again to print from My Image Garden.
If you are printing from another application using non Canon paper, it is possible that the problem is with double profiling. In this case, we recommend to use the paper profile supplied by the paper manufacturer. We also recommend to disable Canon color management from the application that you wish to print from. You will need to contact the software manufacturer for instructions to allow the software to manage the colors.
Please contact us again should you have other enquiries.

I’m using canon genuine paper and inks. I have the driver version 10.84.2.0. The windows laptop prints great. Details are in the faces. The macbook pro prints bad there are no details in the faces it looks airbrushed. My image garden doesn’t double profile as it tells me to select default when the print prompt appears and I’ve done this. And my image garden gave exactly the same results - windows laptop good image, macbook pro bad image. Can you please help me?
Thanks

If the quality does not improve, we recommend that you contact Apple and explain to them the issue that you are having as there may be some settings that need to be adjusted in your operating system to accomodate the print quality.
Please let us know the outcome.
So they've basically sent me back here to apple to find out if they're some settings that need to be adjusted? Anyone else find that Windows prints better than OS X?
