select the cell you want to repeat, copy, then select the column (or range), then paste

It is easier in Exel.

Purely a metter of opinion. The copy paste method is super fast.

type a "1" in cell A1

select cell A1, copy

select the column, paste

It is especially faster if there are 100 (or more ) cells

You have indirectly answered my question.

So in order to duplicate a number say 1 you would have to make 2 cells of 1 then use the yellow circle to drag it down.

and

It is easier in Exel.

if you select a range where there is a pattern and you hover the cursor ove the (let's say) bottom edge:

you can drag the yellow fill control down. That will fill with an incrementing pattern.

If you repeat the pattern twice, then select the four cells you can fill down using the yellow circle and the pattern will repeat and not count:

So what you are saying is that there is no other way to repeat a number but to copy and paste the number as opposed to Exel where you can just drag the cell down to repeat the number.
