Battery drain issues since IOS 7.1.1 update
My battery has been horrible since the latest IOS update. I'm charging it 2to 3 times per day. Anyone else having issues?

This is my exact problem. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6138432?tstart=0
How do we now get Apple to respond to this problem. The phone is useless. I can't be doing with this for months till that fix it. This why we should never bloody update straight away.
Ok. Can everyone here please contact Apple about this problem at the following Address.
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I was advised to do this by Online Chat Support. I dont think Apple are very aware of this problem. They think 7.1.1 has been a ''wonder success battery saving excersize''. We need to get this elevated otherwise we might be waiting till September to get this sorted - and even that isn't guarenteed if the iOS 7.1.1 battery drain problem is sent into iOS 8 too.

Like others, I had done absolutely everything to fix my battery issues. I've adjusted settings, no backgroun app refresh, no auto fetch, reset, hard reset, restore from backup, restore "as new" with no apps, genius bar visit, battery diagnostics, drain completely, then recharge to 100%, purchased activity monitors, etc, etc, etc. Nothing worked.
At the same time, I also had the faulty sleep/wake button. I went in to the Apple store 2 days ago to get the sleep/wake button replaced via Apple's replacement program. They could not get my iPhone to sync with their diagnostic laptop and had to take my phone to the back to clean the lightning socket, reseat the battery, check inside the phone for loose connections, etc. During this process, they snapped a piece off a bracket and clipped a wire. They broke my phone and replaced it on the spot. I got LUCKY.
So... fast forward a few hours. I restored my phone from itunes backup. Installed all of my original apps. Same settings as before. With the new phone, no more battery drain. Yesterday was my first day with the new phone. After a complete day of normal usage, I was at 70% at the end of the day. My conclusion is that there was something wrong with the hardware in my old phone. Perhaps, it may have needed a new battery, or maybe it was even related ot the faulty sleep/wake button??? Who knows, but I'm going with hardware failure of some kind.
Not that Apple needs any more $$$, but I think I'm going to spring for Apple Care next time around!
I don't know if any of you have submitted feedback to Apple regarding these issues, but you can easily do so here. My phone also suffered from the faulty sleep/wake button for over 6 months. Apple initially didn't acknowledge the issue that so many users were having, but then Apple finally backed down and announced the repair program last month, even for phones out of warranty.
Of course Apple is aware of the battery issue, but whether they do anything about it is another matter. I did hear, however, that ios 8 will have some built in battery diagnostics (ie, tracking battery consumption by app), so maybe this is their long term solution.
What was your rogue app? Just in case I and others have the same app lurking unused on our phones.

Read the blog post as mentioned by Dirty Vegas to determine if it is a hardware or software issue (usage time is equal to stand-by time).
In my case a rogue app which i had on my phone already since iOS7.04 caused the drain after an update to IOS7.0.6. and still with iOS7.1 I removed the app and now my iPhone is fine again.

I fully charged my 5s before I went to bed, got up this morning, my standby time, was 7h 9 min, my usage time was 7h 9m. It was 100, when I looked at it this morning, it was 67%. My usage time and standby time are exactly the same. BIG problem.
My ipad 4 has changed overnight from my constant work companion to a dead weight in my briefcase half way through the day !
Before OS upgrade I could surf and email all day on and off plus use dropbox and Pages. Now I don't get last lunchtime, and it is taking longer to charge as well.
Whilst working this morning I was watching the percentage dropping almost every couple of minutes.
I have rebooted, hard booted etc etc, turned everything off and tested that standby is functioning correctly, the drain is all during normal usage.
This could be imagination, but there does appear to be more heat generated around the power switch top right rear.
I have been a user for some time, this is not imaginary - assistance please !!
I joined this thread because the same thing is happening to my iPhone 4s since latest IOS update.
I have confirmed that, with no use of the device at all (sleep mode) the USE Time and STAND-BY Time are exactly the same.
To everyone;
The link in my first post has the steps to put your battery useage on the correct track. Use those steps or don't use them - the choice is yours.

Joining this thread to complain has no useful purpose.
Like I said in the above post, back up to iCloud, then use the erase all data and settings option. It will reboot your phone to a as new state, when you restart, choose back up from iCloud. I did these steps, and my phone is working properly again as far as battery usage and all other functions.
I have the same problem which occured right after updating to 7.1.1, which pretty much points to the update being the culprit. It's not about apps, settings or usage that may drain your battery, it's about something in the update which messed up battery life. Apple should pay attention to this and fix it asap. It's goddam annoying!
Ok. Since updating I have had issues. My problem is my battery will jump from 32 -38% to 5 or 1% very quickly then shut down. When I plug it back into charge it will immediately display 40% within seconds. I have done the whole drain, standby power button reset process which did not help.
I am now in a fresh restore to brand new state. I am not going to install any apps, I have read Dirty Vegas's web link and will report how my machine behaves in the next few days.
If I still have the same problem in a a brand new out of the box senario after a few days then I know, for me, it's apples updates and not silly apps like Facebook. I do have to repeat though, that this did indeed start happening when I updated. Can a few others users do this too, and report back.
You can come on here and say you're phone is draining, but it might be better to do this kind of experiment before being another user just letting everyone know that their phone is draining. Catch my drift?.....
I am having the same problem. That is why I searched and found this topic. I have an iPad Air and it was working great until the new iOS 7.1 update. I can literally watch it drain by 1% every 10 minutes well using. There is definitely something wrong with this update. I thought the update was supposed to improve battery life not drain the battery life so fast. I'm glad I'm not the only person experiencing this with iOS 7.1, I thought I was going crazy.
oh yay! "back up to the cloud" -one more reason to give apple all our data. it's bad enough I can't sync the important stuff via cable anymore. If they hadn't made it so difficult, I'd have downgraded to ditch Mavericks already. So over this ****.
I have a mophie I bought with my 5s, and suddenly it's as if the mophie just doesn't work. yet it seems to be functioning.
