Group cards in Mail

I set up a group in Mail, and dragged over the names from my contacts list. But I learned later that a couple of people on the list didn't receive the email. When I went to "edit distribution list" those names didn't have an email address listed. On their contact card the email address is there, but I can't figure out what is going on. Does anyone have an idea?
