I am having the same issue. If my iPhone 5c is locked clock stops running. If I leave it un-locked long enough it picks up network time but as soon as phone locks again same issue. Sometimes it works fine if plugged into power other times it does not.

This is a very serious issue and obviously there are many of us having it. I was really hoping the new 8.3 update would resolve it but no such luck.

PLEASE HELP!!

Exactly same thing for my iPhone 5c. Currently I am running 8.1.3.

If the clock is set manually, it freezes when the phone is locked.

It the clock is set automatically, it will NOT pick up carrier's network time.

I have swapped SIM cards with my other iPhone 6 pluse (unlocked version, using another carrrier's SIM). The issue persists with iPhone 5c, which proves it is the phone's problem, not carrier's.

I believe the time in-consistence is the root reason for the bigger problems: WiFi instability, Google authenticator (time-based tokens) failure, etc.

Apple, please head up and fix this serious issue!!!!!!!!

I am having the same issue. It has been sent back to apple for a service and they said there is nothing wrong with it. I have tried every type of troubleshooting and it hasn't helped. The wifi signal also keeps dropping constantly no matter where I am connected. If anyone has any suggestions (barr get a new phone) they would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I've been having this same problem. The clock doesn't work, which causes none of my messages to go through and makes the phone completely worthless. I took it in to the Apple store and the woman there helping me said "I've never heard of this problem before! It must be an isolated incident" Ummm really Apple?? Why, when so many people are having this problem, can they not come out with a fix? I paid good money for this phone and don't have the money to just go out and buy a new one. Especially when the phone is in perfect condition, other than their huge software issue apparently. A fix for this would be greatly appreciated. If no fix comes out soon, I doubt I will purchase another IPhone. I see no point in spending money on something when the company puts out software updates that make their products worthless and basically force you to buy something else from them.

Well, just to set the record straight: a 2-page thread is not a lot of people. When you took your device in, what did they suggest to fix the issue?

Have you tried making sure that you have a current backup of your device, then, resetting your device to Factory Settings (Settings>Reset All Content and Settings).

Once you have done this, sign onto Messages and iCloud. and run with only those apps to see if the problem persists. That is the only way to determine if the issue is being caused by software or hardware. (If you are using iCloud Mail, you can also sign onto that, if you wish. If it is any other Mail Provider, stick with just Messages and iCloud to start with).

Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and if that doesn't work, restore to Factory Settings - do not set up with a backup. See if the issue is resolved. If it is, then restore to Factory again and then set it up using a backup. If the problem comes back, your backup is corrupt and you will have to set up your device from scratch.
