Everytime I download photos and then remove the SD card I get a warning that I did not eject it first and may have damaged it. I did hi-lite "remote disc" and then "eject disc", but I still get this warning. What am I doing wrong?
With the memory card inserted into the card reader move the curson to the right of the Devices heading to see if it says Hide or Show. I'm guessing it will say Show. Click on Show and you'll see your device:
Are you downloading directly to iPhoto or to a folder on the hard drive. If into iPhoto click on the eject icon to the right of the device name in the left hand source pane before withdrawing the card from the card reader.

Thanks Terence, but I wasn't finding anything else. Since then, I did go to "preferences" under "finder" and checked a box to put memory card onto desk top and an icon appeared. I think it's working for me. I hope it works again.
Where would I find the camera name that you talk about?

I am going directly into iPhoto. The "no name" under devices doesn't always show up. That has worked for me in the past, but now when I load photos from my card I don't see it. Just the "remote disc" sign, and that doesn't work. Maybe I inadvertantly hid it. Wish I could make it come back. That would be easier than going back to the desktop to find the icon. Appreciate your help.
It's not the Remote Disk.
It should be listed there under any of a number of names, depending on the camera you have.
