Mavs - Outlook reminders won't go away after uninstalling outlook for mac 2011

Hi! I have just migrated to a new mac (Mavs osx) and I decided to uninstall MS Outlook (2011) - Hated it. I uninstalled but now whenever I restart all the reminders keep appearing. I don't know how to make them go away. May be an MS database issue but don't know how to fix it. I put this in this discussion because there was not one for Microsoft Office for mac. All help is appreciated! Thanks!

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

What are the reminders actually saying?

Do you have any items in you login items (System Preferences > User & groups, select your user & look in the login items tab). Remove any for MS software.

How did you uninstall?

Microsoft usually list instructions for removing software

Search their site for a guide to removing the specific Mac version (the downloads can sometimes have an uninstaller).

Notifications can be configured in system preferences > notifications. you could disable them, but that doesn't address if it is still installed.

I'd consider following MS's instructions to remove everything & then reinstall Office, but make sure that you deselect the option to install Outlook.

All of the MS installers I have used on the Mac has an advanced or 'custom install' option that allowed for each app to be (de)selected, launch the Office installer to see if that is possible, it will be a few screens in, if you want to be sure before you begin.

Maybe grab a screenshot of one of these dialogs & post it here (cmd+shift+4, then click & drag the crosshair to capture that area). It's possible calendar reminders are coming from Apple's own Calendar app?

Another option is to reinstall Outlook & try disabling the reminders…

but this suggests it's 'buggy' on Mac?

If Outlook is gone from disk (empty the trash) there must be another process that is doing this, did you check the login items?
